What makes this guitar special: This is about as far from a collector’s piece as they come-this beat to hell black beauty has more mojo than it knows what do with…with all the wear even the best relic jobs can’t reproduce. It is oozing with a punk rock aesthetic, which is very fitting-this piece reportedly belonged to a prominent Pittsburgh area punk rock guitarist in the 80’s. The wear is consistent with the genre-with all the battering of a true workhorse. It may look whipped, but it’s still as playable as they come, with an awesome slender neck feel and terrific resonance at a weight that is remarkable for Teles of this era. As with all our pieces, it comes professionally inspected and setup by our in-house master luthier, ready to rock right out of the case. Snap this one up today and put a player in your lineup that you don’t have to worry about babying. Cosmetic condition: All the real deal playwear you can imagine-various nicks, dings, scratches, dents, chips, gouges, and scuffs, with all kinds of pickwear, buckle rash, edgewear, and tarnishing on the hardware. It’s been cleaned up nicely, so you don’t have to worry about dirt being caked on or anything like that. It is important to note that while the fingerboard shows all kinds of wear, there is still a ton of life left in the frets, and there are no cracks or breaks of any kind. All the wear on this piece is purely cosmetic.Body: Solid single cutaway alder body in black finish with single ply white pickguard and top loading six-saddle bridge.Weight: 7 lb, 12.3 ozNeck: Slender C shaped maple neck with black side dots and black dot inlays. Fingerboard shows all kinds of edgewear and sweatstains, but has only minimal pitting and is perfectly playable up and down the length of the neck. Frets show a good amount of wear, but still have a ton of life left in them. 1 3/4" nut width, 25 1/2" scale length. Chrome sealed Fender tuners function perfectly. Neck is straight and plays great up and down the fretboard. Neck heel date reads October of ’83.Electronics: Original Fender single coil pickup in the neck position (7.13K ohms) with replacement Seymour Duncan Hot Rails pickup in the bridge position (7.36K ohms). 3-way pickup selector switch and knurled chrome knobs, 1x volume, 1x tone. Original volume pot has been replaced, but tone pot is original and dates to ’83.Case: Original hard shell case included. Case has taken a beating over the years, but all latches work, and hold secure.
