Greetings and welcome to today's auction. Here is a very special eastern maple billet with dense and compact curl from my reserve stock.......Up for bid is for one (1) dense RIPPLED CURL Eastern Maple (bn. Acer Rubrum) Luthier Electric Guitar Billet! This is old grown with excellent growth spacing and slab sawn/flat sawn cut. It is a denser and harder example for eastern red maple type with a bright tap tone. This is ideal for a deep dish carved top or for a re-top of an existing new or vintage LP.Dimensions (approximately): 20-3/16" long7-7/16" wide1.890" thickSpecifications: Slab sawn cut. Rough surfaced planed 2 face/2 sides edge milled rough cut. Will require to be jointed planed with additional surfacing required prior to book-matching. Air dried/kiln dried seasoned approx. 9-10 percent moisture content). Wood will need to be acclimated to your shops environmental conditions prior to fabrication so it is at workable moisture content. Ends sealed with Anchorseal. Images photographed outdoors with natural lighting conditions. Wood was brushed on all 4 sides with shellac/denatured alcohol mix to help show color, grain and figured (if any). Physical weight is approximately 7.10 pounds. * SIDE NOTE: there is a indentation at the one outside corner edge near the pick up outline- about 1/8" into the material. Should not be a problem as you can run it to the jointer and take off 1/8" and still leave you a generous 7-1/4+" width. There is bark fleck at the side edge towards the end and some pale grayish marks from stickering/storage. Combined Shipping: you can either email me if you want a quote on combined shipping cost.
