This is an original full P/G assembly from a 1959 Stratocaster. It is all there and in very nice condition. It includes the original "green" guard with very little shrinkage and other than the common crack by the bass side neck pickup mounting screw, in very good condition. It also has the original tin shield. All of the plastic ( covers, knobs, switch tip ) are original. It has the correct 11 hole mounting screw pattern. The pickups sound great and are mounted with the typical surgical tubing that was used in this era. The readings on my Fluke meter read:
Bridge P/U - 5.82
Middle P/U - 5.91
Neck P/U - 6.25The neck P/U in particular is so smooth and bluesy ! The volume pot was changed in the 70s and solder blocks the date code. The tone pots are original and are date coded ' 304920.' It also retains it's original paper capacitor. I played this assembly for many years on a refinished body '59 and it sounds very cool, like a vintage Strat should !These are hard to come by all completely assembled, so don't miss your chance to make your '59 whole again or to have a killer project guitar !! *** I have the original '59 neck for sale in another auction !! ***
