Vintage Ludwig 1960's Super Classic White Marine Pearl Drum Kit22" x 14", 13" x 9", 16" x 16" 3 ply Mahogany.This is a truly lovely vintage set of Ludwig drums in overall very good condition, in one of our favourite colours that has a timeless quality and always looks proper classy! Bass Drum 22" x 14" - Serial Number 416143: This drum is in good condition, with a few cosmetic issues. It's a later drum than the toms, as shown by the serial number and the style of receiver boxes.There is an extra hole towards the edge on the bottom of the drum, and there are a couple of cigarette burns to the wrap and on the hoop. There are a few other scuffs and scratches to the wrap. The hoops have been repainted but the inlay is original and in good condition. There is a cymbal holder receiver box installed and the cymbal holder itself is included. An extra cymbal holder receiver box has also been installed, in front of the badge centrally on top of the drum. The rail mount works perfectly and there is a very cool drum key holder installed on the shell as well.The tension rods and claws have some pitting as to be expected from a 50 year old drum! The wrap is tight. Resonant bass drum hoop is a little out of round.Rack Tom 13" x 9" - Serial Number 60804: This drum is in lovely cosmetic condition, just a couple of scuffs and a few scratches here and there, but nothing of any real consequence. Internally the batter bearing edge has had a bit of work at some point, there's evidence of a bit of filler, but the head sits properly on the edge and the drum tunes up no problem.The wrap is tight and the chrome is very good overall with some pitting. Original baseball bat dampener present and working. Original receiver box. There's a cool "snare bumper" fitted to prevent scuffs when the tom rests against a snare drum when the kit is set up - very nifty!Floor Tom 16" x 16" - Serial number 60885: Very little in the way of cosmetic issues, just a few scratches. The damper is missing from this drum and there are two extra holes from a resonant head damper that must have been fitted at some point but is also now missing. The batter hoop is a little out of round and there is a fair bit of corrosion to the hoops in general. Pitting and scratches to the floor tom legs.Despite these issues this is a lovely looking kit. The WMP wrap has mellowed to a warm cream colour. The kit is sturdy, tunes up nicely and sounds fantastic.
