Ovation, Model S861 Balladeer Special, will deliver the rich, acoustic-electric tones that have been heard and adored in hundreds of hit songs and recordings. This thinline acoustic-electric features a solid spruce top and is equipped with Ovation's OP-24+ preamp that gives you all the control you may need to dial in the perfect acoustic sound! The OP-24+ has a 3-band EQ with a Mid-shift and a Pre-shape as well as an EQ In/Out button. The mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard, and cutaway body gives your left hand the perfect feel and opportunity to easily hit the notes you need. And since this Balladeer Special features a shallow bowl that is extremely comfortable to hold, you'll be strumming your songs all night long. Cosmetic and Functionality DescriptionBody: the top has some small to medium-sized dings in the wood around the edges of the lower bout with the most significant ones on the treble side of the lower bout--the largest one measures about an inch long and may be all the way through the wood, but it's hard to tell as it is very thin; a few dings and scuff marks can be found along the body binding; the bowl just has a few very small scuff marks on it in a few placesNeck, Fretboard, and Headstock: the fretboard looks virtually flawless; the neck has some easily noticeable scratches and indentations, plus a couple of obvious dings in the wood between the 5th and 7th fret positions--these are slightly noticeable to the touch, but should not affect comfort or playability; the headstock has some small indentations that can be found on the front, back, and sidesAction and Playability: the action is about medium, plus the neck is straight and the truss rod functions flawlessly and the bridge is not lifting of the soundboardFrets: light to moderate wear between the nut and 5th fretHardware: all looks fantasticElectronics: all functions flawlesslyIncludes: acoustic-electric guitar, owner's manual, and original hardshell case
