1962 Fender Pro Amp 6G5-A serial number 55641
This Pro Amp is in very good condition. fully functional and cosmetically very clean. This is a rare find and is one of the finest amps every made. Some of the pots are a bit scratchy but all it needs is to be used a bit and it stops.. The proper amount of servicing has been performed including new filter caps, new output transformer and a 3-prong A/C power cord. There is some play wear and tear.. the grill mesh has some holes that are hard to see in pics...The rear top cover has extra screws and might be a replacement...
The Pro Amps was outfitted with a Jensen Alnico 5 15 inch speaker. I am not sure this is an original speaker and seems to be dated to 55 or 65.
The vibrato, which is typical of these Brownies, is unlike the tremolos of the tweeds and black faces. It borders on Univibe. That alone is worth the price of admission. The 15” makes it a bit more lush. Although most of the datable components we could see are dated 1961 we did find one pot dated 1962.
Speaker Codes: 220 525
Footswitch: Yes. Non-original 1 button
