Vintage Bacon & Day Super Grade Plectrum Banjo
Serial #9133
Day joined the Bacon Banjo Co Inc in Sept 1922. They started making B & D banjos (Silver Bell, Super Banjo, and the Blue Bell) starting with serial numbers somewhere around 6000. That would place this banjo in the early to mid 1920s.Features-
-Tiger maple resonator (Bacon and Day label on the inside side of resonator)

-Unfinished plug hole drilled for pickup but never installed
-Comes with 2 additional Black Diamond Strings (box holding strings has wear and holes) and a shoulder strapAll pieces are original expect for the pickup plug hole, head and bridge

This is truly a gorgeous piece of history. This is a hard to find model and would make a great addition to anyone's collectionCondition- Was played professionally for a number of years. Has lots of honest wear from being played. Arm rest has scratches, discoloration/rubbing, wear and small dent towards the middle where your hand would hit while playing. Back of the neck and frets have wear and rubbing from being played and held. Tension hoop, tone ring, rim, and flange have some discoloration/rubbing and scratches from use. Back of resonator has some deep scratches and some dings towards the middle and towards to top. Tuners have some patina on the metal portions on the back of the peghead and tuners have some light wear. Head has wear and discoloration from use. No cracks, straight neck, professional sound and volume. Case has some wear and white and blue marks on the outside, latches have wear and patina. Inside of case has light wear and the lid of the inside storage compartment has come off but is still there.
