Firth, Hall & Pond, Franklin, Sq., New York. (1847-1863) A beautiful antique flamed boxwood flute with bone rings and brass key. This flutes was previously restored and in very good condition. Very low register is a little weak, maybe the key is leaking slightly. Pitch is around 446. The flute has new cork joints, a small head joint crack and ring crack both of which are well repaired. The name stamps appears on the bottom 3 joints. The end cap has a previous owners initials carved into it.This is an very nice looking flute by one of America’s most important makers. I don’t consider it in perfect playing condition although it does play - hence the lower starting price. Includes “homemade” cloth case.
