Up for sale is a kill in' playing early Selmer mark vi tenor sax ,104,xxx. If you've been in the market for a an exceptional playing mark vi tenor that won't break the bank... this is the horn for you! This horn plays with the complexity of a five digit down low but as you play up the scale it gets a little bit brighter to help you cut through the mix. The 5 digits for me, are always a little too dark up top. I personally want to hear a little cut in my upper register so this is my personal favorite vintage of all the Selmers. This horn probably won't win any beauty contests as it's been played a lot in its life but it was taken care of and never abused. The horn is in top, top playing shape with a killer pro overhaul but you will find reminence of past dents being removed throughout its life. The neck is original with matching serial number and there looks to be a flush mount pick up removed from the neck... if you didn't know what to look for, you'd never find it, it was done that well. Doesn't look to have any past resolders but I can't be 100%. This sax retains about 60% (give or take) of its original laq. This sax is incredibly responsive and can really play with power when pushed. I bought it from a retired professional musician that told me he owned over 20 tenors and this one was by far his favorite.. and so he played this for a long time!
