Please read full description --This is a King Voll-True professional alto saxophone stencil saxophone made around 1924. This saxophone was made by the H.N. White/King band instrument company, but was sold under the name "Symphony" which is why it is called a stencil. The King Voll-True was the predecessor to the king Zephyr and later the Super 20 (arguably some of the greatest saxes existence). The Voll-True was a close competitor to the Conn New Wonder Series 1 and 2 and the Buescher True ToneThis horn plays 100% from top to bottom with ease. Six pads have been replaced: Palm D, palm Eb, palm F, side E, G octave, and the neck octave. The rest of the pads vary, but all have life left and have been checked with a leak light to be leak-free. There are new adjustment materials throughout the horn, and the neck cork is brand new. All key felts are present, and new poly-tubing has been added to the octave mechanism. All springs are present and have been checked for proper tensions.The silver plating is 95% intact and has just been polished. There are several small pen sized (and smaller) dings sparsely scattered throughout the horn, and there are no dents on the sax except for a very minor flat spot on the bottom of the bow as photographed. Four of the key guard feet have been re-soldered and the Eb key guard has been replaced with a new one. This horn has single post construction and a few of the posts look like the have been re-soldered. The neck is original because the serial number on the neck matches the one on the saxes body . The neck may have possible pull down because of the age, but I'm not sure, and the neck guard has been re-soldered. All keys and pearl inlays are original and intact.This horn comes with its original vintage black leather hardwood case of which is somewhat worn and tattered (more worn on the underside), but fully physically functional and it works well (marked "Symphony Professional" an the upside of case). This horn was a ton of fun to own because of its rich, lush, sweet but powerful and projecting tone. This would make a great horn for any sax player looking for a solid vintage horn in ready-to-play condition, or a good one to add to a vintage sax collection. I do also play saxophone so I will try to answer any question you have.
