A rare, very fine old French violin bow made by Nicolas Maire ca. 1845, certified by J.F. Raffin, S. Bigot and Y. Le Canu in Paris. This is a wonderful example, also a magnificent sounding, refined and charming bow. The stick is pernambuco of superior choice with remarkable figuration. The original frog and button are ebony with nickel-silver mountings. The length of the bow is 73.3 cm and the weight of the stick is 59 g.
