This guitar was made in the USA and is NOT the cheaper S-2 model. As a 2009 model, there are a couple of cool features unique to '09 and '10 model years. The bird inlays are the silhoutte rather than the solid white birds. The finish is done in nitro, many players' choice over poly as the preferred finish type. The third 5-way knob is replaced by a three-way pickup selection switch, and a push/pull tone pot for coil splitting. The switch provides faster pickup selection on the fly. This guitar sounds and plays great. Everything works exactly as it should as the wear issues are purely cosmetic.The book-matched curly maple top is not a 10 top, but many people have remarked that it should be.
