To start out, our oboe terminology sucks, sorry about that! From our research we have concluded that this oboe is a full conservatory model with range to low Bb with low Bb resonance key. This oboe is grenadilla wood with BEAUTIFUL silver plated keys. NO CRACKS NOR PLATING WEAR! There is no banana key. This oboe has a split D, single octave mechanism, left-hand C# key, and left-hand thumb key for low B. We inquired online regarding prospective makers of this oboe and were informed by an oboe specialist that it is most likely an unmarked oboe by Prestini or Orsi and of Prestini's full conservatory mechanism. This oboe has been stored for a while (we purchased it in a 'lot' with other instruments) and we'd recommend replacing the musty-smelling Linton case. The keywork is on the sluggish side as the steels/screws need a good cleaning from sitting. This oboe appears to have received minimal usage as there is no wear to note. We did a light hand-polish to the keywork via JL Smith polishing cloth and the keys shined right up with minimal effort! Pads seem in pretty good shape but some of the felt pads may need replacing due to being stored.
