Offered is a gently used Celestini 1/8 size upright bass. Only used for a short term rental and is still in mint condition.
1/8 Size basses are hard to find and work well for students from the age of 5 to 9 or for adults who want a shorter string length closer to an electric bass string length.Our custom 1/8 size Celestini double bass features a laminated spruce top, a swelled laminated maple back and maple ribs, a custom made hand carved adjustable bridge with fitted feet and metal string adjusters, an ebony fingerboard which has been dressed down for the proper contour and dip for optimal close string heights and a custom hand cut nut. This model also features internal and external kerfing for a wider more durable gluing surface. The tailpiece is ebony. Ratio 26:1 Tyrolian style tuning gears. These multi-teeth tuning gears insure the strongest slippage free tuning. The sound post has been professionally set. Notched end pin. Every stand up bass also receives a minimum 72 hour ToneRite vibration treatment which is very important. Not only will your instrument sound better but the notes themselves will come easier, allowing you to play more difficult passages with less fatigue. All completely set-up and tested in our shop by our bassist-luthier. Great for advancing students or professionals.This bass is strung with ropecore strings for a great sound (Other strings are available). Bows, hard cases with wheels and padded gig bags are available.. We carry pickups including our own custom made Celestini pickup, stands and all types of accessories. Contact us for package deals.
