This is a 1991 "Greg Rich Era" Gibson RB3 5-string banjo. The serial number is 3-9105-65. It is in very good playing condition and sounds great!!! It comes with the original Gibson hard shell case. Elderly Instruments told me that they would sell this for in the $2500 range. I am asking that but I am also including around $500 of extras.I play Scruggs style and Melodic style and it is well suited for both.Tacks are installed on the 7th and 9th fretsExtras are:a Kat Eye pegged bridge which is installed on the banjothe original Gibson bridge a Snuffy Smith bridgeboth the original Presto tailpiece and A Fults 343 Parallel/XYZ-20 tailpiece (Bella Fleck is one of there artist users)an Elliot-McKinney capoa Shubb capoan extra new Waverly straight planetary geared peg (which I was going to install because I like the way it functions)extra 5th string tacksTwo Blue Chip J.D Crowe Thumpicks (one that has never been used)a couple used (worn in) vintage Kyser fingerpicksa Snark tuner with the Stew Mac banjo mount kit and original peg head mountA Silver Eagle leather banjo strap with pick pocket (from Stew Mac)Set up tools with include a Stew Mac premium head tension wrench, a Stew Mac premium truss rod tool, a coordinator rod wrench and screwdriver for the truss rod coverIt's set up with medium strings (and there are a couple extra sets too)I hate to sell this but I'm not playing bluegrass banjo anymore and I can't see it just sitting around and not being used (I'm not a collector) when I have property tax to pay. I also have a Bourgeois Vintage D and a Fender B-bender Telecaster up for auction. (which are both great instruments) check out my other auctions...I am offering free shipping to the lowest 48 states. If you live outside of that area we can check out what the extra cost might be.That will include being shipped in a new shipping box purchased from the UPS Store and packed with very great care.
