Beautiful early-issue (2006) LAKLAND 55-01 SKYLINE 5-string bass, excellent condition, MADE IN KOREA.Standard LAKLAND specs: 35" scale, compound radius board, graphite reinforced, strings thru body, BARTOLINI pickups, 3-band EQ, pickup blend, master volume with push-pull for EQ bypass. *Note: Push-pull switch is EQ bypass, not active-passive: bass will not function without a battery. Another possibility is that the pickups themselves are "active" (a la' EMG) and in that case it may be true preamp bypass but again, there needs to be a battery for the pickups (active pickups have internal preamps). The bass is so quiet I suspect the latter. These fine details have been the source of many discussions and confusion on the bass talk sites. NO MATTER!Wonderful bass, looks, sounds and plays great, electronics are dead-quiet (no hum), frets are perfect and of course, the early ones (made in Korea) are better than the current ones (made in Indonesia). Bass looks great but there is some wear, nothing major, minor scratches-swirling only, no dings, some dulling below the G string from slapping/fingernails, always difficult to show in pics.
