Epiphone 50th Anniversary 1960 Les Paul Standard V3 This is the Epiphone Custom Shop 50th Anniversary 1960 Les Paul V3 electric guitar. 24.75" scale. 1 11/16" nut width. Gibson and Epiphone celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Les Paul by introducing a limited edition series. The V3 is based on the infamous 1960 Les Paul and was limited to just 1,960 pieces in total. This is #1404. This Les Paul features a non chambered mahogany body and flamed maple top- this brings that true Gibson 'push' and cutting mid-range. Into that Epiphone used dual Gibson USA Burstbuckers. These add that famous PAF tone. The bridge pickup has incredible crunch for solid rhythms and searing leads. The neck pickup has thick singing sustain. Beautiful. The mahogany neck here features the 60's profile- .88" deep at the 5th fret. The fretboard radius here measures 15"- one of the most bendable Pauls you'll ever have the pleasure of playing. This V3 is absolutely gorgeous - Heritage Darkburst showing off that flame top, fully bound neck & body, and chrome hardware. This beauty is in perfect unplayed condition. This includes the original Lifton-style hardshell case and COA.

You get all the benefits of a new guitar, with all the mojo of a vintage Les Paul. Each guitar comes with a stamped serial number, a numbered certificate of authenticity, and an Epiphone hardshell case.
The 1960 Gibson Les Paul has achieved such heights on the collector's market that it is unattainable to all but the most affluent investors. The Epiphone Limited-Edition 50th Anniversary Les Paul harks back to 1960, with its carved maple top, powerful PAF-style Gibson USA BurstBucker humbucking pickups, versatile Tune-O-Matic bridge, and super-comfortable, hyper-fast long tenon neck with SlimTaper '60s-style "D" profile.
BodyThe body is carved from solid mahogany with a carved cap and grade-AAA flame maple veneer. The maple-mahogany wood combination, one of the most legendary pairs in the history of the solid and semi-solid electric guitar, yields a "best of both worlds" tonal splendor that couples warmth and definition, while also producing a classic look and a sturdy instrument. The Ltd Edition 50th Anniversary 1960 Les Paul Standard's body woods present a tonal marriage made in heaven, offering a combination of good clarity, definition and treble bite from the maple, and excellent depth and richness from the mahogany, with punchy mids and warm lows, all of which are elements that are found in the classic Les Paul Standard tone.
BurstBuckerGibson U.S.A. BurstBucker™ humbuckers. BurstBuckers™ replicate the sound of Gibson's original "Patent Applied For" pickups--the pickups that gave the '59-'60 Les Paul Standards their legendary sound. Made like the originals, with unpolished magnets and non-potted coils, they include variations in pickup output and tone thanks to magical inconsistencies in winding the bobbins, a result of the lack of automatic shutoffs on Gibson's winding machines in the late 1950s.
Seth Lover, who invented the humbucker, always said they wound the bobbins "until they were full." When two coils in a pickup have a different number of turns, that variation puts a little "edge" or "bite" on the classic humbucker sound. The neck pickup is a BurstBucker-1 and is slightly under-wound for a "medium" vintage output. The bridge pickup is a Burstbucker-2 that is wound in the range of a slightly hotter vintage PAF, and which works well in combination with the BB-1 in the neck.
BridgeThe Ltd Edition 50th Anniversary 1960 Les Paul Standard carries Epiphone's LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge. This legendary bridge provides a firm seating for the strings, allowing the player to adjust and fine-tune the intonation and string height in a matter of minutes. It also yields excellent coupling between strings and body, maximizing resonance, tone, and sustain. The LockTone upgrade of this classic piece of hardware now stays in place with all strings removed, and provides and even tighter coupling between bridge and posts. This Tune-O-Matic is nickel plated to echo the look of an original late-'50s Les Paul Standard Bridge Tailpiece.Every Tune-O-Matic bridge is combined with a separate "stopbar" tailpiece, which is essentially a modified version of the earlier wraparound bridge that's designed to further enhance the connection between the strings and the body. The Limited Edition 50th Anniversary 1960 Les Paul Standard's carries a nickel-plated LockTone stopbar, which provides a firm coupling between the tailpiece and its studs.
