Set of used Bagpipes.  The word "Scotland" appears on one piece (see picture number 4) These pipes appear to be genuine ivory and African Black Wood. One man guessed they were around 1960-1970 era pipes. Not the cheap Pakistani pipes as far as I can tell.  I am not an expert, but I've shown close-up photos to a buyer and he said that they look like the real thing.  Ivory has a distinct look to it, which these  also have, and African Black wood is  black inside and out, which these are.  Some work was done on them several years ago.  The bag makes noise when squeezed, but the reed in the blowpipe needs replacing to make any awesome tunes.  It doesn't appear to have any cracks.   Formerly belonged to our uncle, who was a History buff.  The name "William Clark" is inscribed on Chanter.  Possibly historically significant.  I found a web page dedicated to a William Clark who made pipes in the 1800s, but it's a pretty common name, so you can figure that one out!  The pipes come with a case (not very new or pretty, but solid) and a beginners book.  Please look carefully at the detailed pictures I included and use your own judgment.    These pipes are sold as-is.  I've tried to include as many different angles on the pictures as I could think of.  There is a slight mildew stain on the blowpipe (picture number 8)  The wood is still very strong and hard, just discolored.  As I said before, they need a reed (and maybe more--I'm not a piper) before they will play completely.  The bag smells a little of mildew, but looks good.  They've been sitting for 30 years, so I don't really blame them. I cannot answer any further questions because I do not have internet access on a daily basis.I already have an offer for $450 from a local man, so beat him and they are yours!
