A vintage Blackface 1965 Fender Showman Amp head in nice cosmetic condition. This is the 8-ohm single Showman version--originally paired with a 1x12 or 1x15 cabinet. These single Showman Amps are far less common than the 4-ohm Dual Showman heads. The amp is in nice shape for a 50-year old amp. It has typical tolex wear plus a couple cigarette burns. It is missing the back panel and mounting hardware to attach the head to the original Fender cabinetOverview -Serial #: A03332 -Manufacture Date: August of 1965 -Power Output: 85 Watts -Tubes: 6L6 (2), 12AT7, 12AX7 (3) -Controls: Volume, Treble, Bass | Vibrato: Volume, Treble, Bass, Speed, Intensity -Dimensions: 24'' x 9.5'' x 8'' -Weight: 35 lbs Cosmetics (see phtotos) -original Tolex -original grillcloth -original handle -missing back panel -missing cabinet mounting hardware Electronics -original transformers -4 replaced power tube screen grid resistors -1 replacement power tube socket -replacement grounded AC cordShowman amps are revered for their big, sparkly clean tone. As you turn the amp upthe cleans turn smoothly into that classic Blackface grind. With lots of neutral cleanheadroom, the amp makes a great platform for pedals as well. This amp is a greatplayer, and you will be hard-pressed to find a modern amp of similar qualitywithout spending thousands more. To top it off this Showman ships with a wellmatchedset of vintage RCA Blackplate 6L6GC power tubes--probably worth acouple hundred on their own. This vintage amplifier has been serviced and tested. Itis fully functional and sounds fantastic.
