It has a serial number in the 3500 range, is silver plated, and includes Standard keywork including the High D and High E keys. This model has rollers for the Whisper/D#, Low D/C, and Low E like the 101 model, which was recently renamed the 201 with roller options. This instrument is a short bore model, meaning it has a singing middle and upper register, very suitable for lyrical solo work. It plays extremely well, and has a very rich color. This high quality Wooden bassoon is made in the USA by Fox, one of the premier bassoon makers in the world. They are known for having a great powerful and sound with great response. These instruments are still being made, and new cost $27,000. Now, you can have a professional bassoon for a fraction of that price. The instrument itself is in great playing condition. All of the pads were replaced. It passed a playtest and plays evenly up and down. The wood is solid and there is no evidence of cracks or crack repair.
