I have for sale, a great guitar. It has a hole in peg head. I researched this, and back in the 60's they would put this key in headstock, and add a string to it, and tune it an octive high to make the guitar sound like a twelve string.
Other issue is there is two small, appear to be finish cracks in the back. The top is crack free. The pickguard came off, and some one had painted the area that the pick guard had been. The finger board has gouges and file marks in it. But, the intonation is perfect on it!! Hard to believe. I was going to get it refretted, but after stringing it up, it plays perfect. The tuners are original, I replaced the tuning peg buttons, keys are great, buttons were shot. I bought a new case for it, to ship it in. A professor has had this guitar since the sixties, a student had given it to him back then. I would love to keep it, but in the financial situation I'm in, I must sell. I have it for sell locally, so I reserve the right to end auction early. This is a player guitar, it is the best sounding Gibson guitar I have ever played! If you are a player, this is the one you've been looking for. I will try to post a video, so you can hear the great tone of this great guitar. Thanks
