1997 Lang Percussion Commemorative Gladstone Snare Drum 5.5" x 14" - gold lacquer with gold hardware.Limited Edition Series #1 of 99Exact replica of the famous 1951 Billy Gladstone Custom Snare Drum I bought this drum new in 1997 and it has never been played. The only stick marks on the head are from the great man himself when he tuned it before shipping to me. Gold laquer on an eight-ply shell with 24 carat gold plating. The gold laquer was one of the colors Billy Gladstone used on his snares.Like Billy, Arnie Lang usually puts a small name plaque on the outside of his limited edition drums. I didn't want that but this drum is signed and numbered inside the shell (see photo 9)If you are reading this my guess is you already know all about Lang Gladstone snares and are simply looking for one at a great price. But in summary here are a few of the features:Three Way Tensioning™ : Adjustments are made from the top of the drum with a special three way tuning key which permanently mounts on the shell. Tune top head alone, bottom head alone or both heads at the same time without taking the drum off the stand.Perfect Snare Control: The snare strainer flips off without any noise since there are no springs or rods to malfunction.Fingertip Tone Control: The muffler knob has a numbered gauge to obtain the exact degree of muffling required and easily recapture that degree.Finish: All Gladstone Drums are lacquered on the inside with the same high quality lacquer used on the outside.Shells: 8 Ply Keller shell 1/4" thick 5.5" in depth.
