Hi guys,I 'm selling a perfect condition Beyerdynamic MC834. (Not getting any use) It was bought new for $1690 a few years back. It's one of the best German made mics out there and is a direct competitor to Neumann. (Tone comparatively sits between a tlm103 and tlm49)It's a versatile, very neutral microhpone. It is designed as a universal, cardioid, studio microphone to be used for lead and back up vocals, (also with pianos, strings, guitar, brass and very popular for overhead drums)It's 20hz-20khz, exceptionaly linear with a slight presence bump at 2khz leading to vocals that cut through a mix with absolute ease, and a another at around 8khz-12khz giving it its gorgeous open airiness. It has as been on a stand in a studio its whole life, used for vocals of every single type, (male and female) and comes with its original box, paper work, shockmount and mic mount. It's the best, all around mic I've ever owned. Beautiful open open top end, incredibly detailed, but also maintains warmth and thickness down low. Basic Specs:High SPL capabilitySwitchable 10 and 20 dB attenuation2 position low frequency roll-offCompany shpeel:
The MC 834 condenser microphone features an extremely linear frequency curve and a frequency response of 20 to 20,000 Hz. Due to its cardioid polar pattern it has a high gain-before-feedback. Without pre-attenuation, the microphone has a SPL capability of 130 dB, with pre-attenuation up to 150 dB. It also offers a dynamic range that is second to none. The microphone has a balanced output and can be powered by phantom power between 12 and 48 V. The MC 834 condenser microphone is a universal studio microphone to be used for digital recording, both lead and back up vocals, voice-overs, miking of pianos, strings and brass instruments. It is also suited to the home recording artist. This mic sounds great on snare drums! To adjust for SPL levels in excess of 130 dB, a knurled preattenuation switch with indicator is provided on the front of the barrel and is rotated to show 0 dB (no attenuation), 10 dB (SPL's up to 140 dB), or 20 dB (SPL's up to 150 dB). To adjust for proximity effect or extraneous low frequency ambient sounds, a three position knurled switch with indicator is provided on the rear of the barrel and is rotated to show LIN (flat, with no roll-off), 80 (6 dB per octave roll-off below 80 Hz), or 160 (6 dB per octave roll-off below 160 Hz).Feel free to ask any questions! Thanks.
