Selmer Wood Signet Bassoon, Overhauled with all new pads! Hard Case, Nice! Up for auction is a Wooden Selmer Signet Model Bassoon in good condition. Also included and includes a nice heavy duty hard case and a bocal. This good quality wooden bassoon is made in the USA by Selmer, one of the largest instrument makers in the world. They specialize in making student and intermediate level instruments that are easy to learn on and last a long time. All the pads are brand new, replaced during our overhaul process on this instrument. It now plays cleanly and evenly up and down and responds as it should. This is a great starter bassoon. Its relatively low cost and good quality make it a great choice for a student starting out on the instrument. The wood material gives the instrument a richer sound than similar plastic models. From a cosmetic perspective, this instrument shows some wear, but is in good condition overall. The lacquer paint has worn through and has some chipping on the surface. The metal plating is in very nice condition, but has wear on several keys. This instrument plays great. Also included is a silk swab, seat strap, hand crutch, and reed.
