These T-square and triangle verses, a kind of disturbing fife-and-drum corps coming down the street - in a straight-line pattern- were spontaneously written early in my work.." (Wright Autobiography)Wright continues in his account to relate that he finds to tune be shouting "damn" and that it took his wife Olgivanna to set his lines to music, with the song being occasionally sung by the Taliesin Fellowship.
