For sale is a beautiful vintage 4 string Vega tu-ba-phone tenor banjo, Serial # 62414. The banjo is in very nice condition from 1924 with an embellished carved wooden neck and highly ornate engraved mother of pearle inlay resonator. The resonator is not an original Vega resonator. The peg head is profusely inlaid and the back of the peg head inlaid with the Vega star. It exhibits a hand carved heel and a mother of pearl inlaid cap. Included is the original hard shell case which is intact, but shows wear. Condition" Condition is very good except for the following wear: Nickel platting worn in areas, wear and scratches to the mother of pearl inlaid on resonator. One of the 4 strings is missing. Small chip shown in 5th picture of resonator. Vega banjos were made in Boston Mass. and are considered to be among the finest made.
