This is an auction on an as-yet unidentified, possibly custom-made one-of-a-kind, One-Piece Fretless Bass Guitar. This remarkable bass guitar comes from a collection containing many other interesting and rare musical equipment but this bass in particular stands out for it's uniqueness.Research on Ken Smith basses has not turned up any identically shaped bass guitars, and we have received confirmation from Ken Smith Basses that this is not a product designed or made by them, however it does feature Ken Smith pickup, Ken Smith tuners, and the gold Ken Smith "IV" bass bridge. Any additional information about the bass would be very much appreciated. While there are unfortunate few specifics to provide as there is no model or maker to be referred to, I can attest to its full functionality. It's fretless as shown and plays wonderfully. All electronics are working well and there doesn't seem to be any warping of the neck or any major structural damage, although there are some slight cracks in the finish of the neck, not visible but they can be felt. As stated it is crafted from a single piece of wood and features several Dunlop Straplok mounts along the body in various areas providing plenty of choice and versatility when attaching the included, compatible leather strap. There are some unfortunate dings along the body in several areas. These dings are not largely shown within the photos due to the limited number of photos allowed in each auction and other photos took precedence, but please feel free to message me and I will be happy to provide photos of these dings to all who are interested.Lastly the bass features a signature matching that of Sting's. Its authenticity is not something I can be 100% certain of, however given the value and craftsmanship of such a bass, it would seem unlikely that its previous owner would have allowed it to be marred with anything other than a proper signature from Sting himself. Similarly, the previous owner of a bass such as this seems likely to have had the willingness and ability to seek out such a signature. But again, it is not something that comes with any sort of certificate of authenticity. Also included is a fairly standard soft case which is rather unremarkable but fits the bass well. For additional specifications or information please feel free to ask any questions. Please see all photos for a closer look. Please see our other auctions.Happy Bidding and Good Luck!
