Incredibly rare! Not one, but TWO 6.5x14 Rogers Luxor snare drums finished in mahagony, with tone controls, and ready to add to your collection. You are not seeing double!Original Rogers heads, Diplomat batter and Ambassador reso. Original rims with no rust. Bantam throw-offs. Rogers 16-strand snare wires. Beavertail lugs are in incredible shape. Cleveland flat gray interiors. Optional tone controls installed with proper black felt mufflers. No defects on bearing edges. No separation of re-rings. Still has the Rogers paint smell on the inside of both drums. And they sound incredible. Luxor drums used the same high-quality shells as other Rogers snares. You are not dreaming! The person I bought these drums from got them from an estate sale in Roanoke, VA. I believe they are originally from the Washington DC public school district and were purchased in 1966 or early 1967 and the markings on the outside of the drums denote which school they came from (or maybe an asset identifier)N-111 drum: Also has a series of numbers etched below the N-111. Rogers tag Luxor #13237 Cleveland. 16-strand wires are not stamped Rogers, however I can't see a physical difference between these and the other drum snare wires. Missing one washer on one of the top tension rods, all others are there.N-114 drum: Paper tag missing. Instead, stamped "P.S.D.C. 1-24-67 U.S.A" where the tag would have been (Public Schools of D.C.). Two of the three 'nail ends' from the Rogers badge have broken off, however the script Rogers badge is still securely in place.Items come as pictured. Drums need a cleaning/chrome polishing.I am selling these together to keep the history together.Questions? Please ask!
