French instrument of indeterminate age, made in Paris. Serial number 416xx. Excellent condition. Three upright valves plus a fourth to be played by the forefinger of the left hand. Valves were replated in 2013, and are now quite fast. Big sound throughout all ranges. High notes pop out easily. No major dings. There is a dent on the bottom bow (see photo)which does not affect playing and can be easily removed. There is a section of tubing right by the valve section where the lacquer is missing. (Again, see photo.)Mouthpiece is a Cousenon stock mouthpiece with intact silver plating. European shank. Case, probably original, is in good condition. Brass with clear lacquer finish at about 90%. All slides slide, Water key functional. Tightly wrapped. This horn is shorter than most full sized instruments.No compensating tubing.Manufacturer designed this horn for Paris conservatory students.
