Up for auction is a very nice playing 1956 vintage Olds "Super" Bb trumpet with original case.
It is made of the best brass with nickel plated accents. All original lacquer has been removed for a uniform look and natural tone. You can hand polish or lightly wheel buff this trumpet to look all shiny and "newish' or you can simply leave it alone to let it develope a beautiful patina. Right now I'm letting it start to patina. All valves and slides move well. It has been de-dented but has no signs of previous damage. It's a solid vintage horn with the usual wear and minor scratches. All parts are original...including the case.I love the way this horn plays. It has good compression and articulates very well. Tone is gorgeous and full of color. Classic Olds projection and a nice open horn. Can be used for ALL styles of play.This trumpet's serial number is 182xxx and dates it to around 1956.I will entertain ANY fair offers to begin negotiating as long as it's a REALISTIC offer.All of my horns are repaired and play tested by only the best brass repairmen.
Sometimes, I will fix and tweak a horn myself. I also play test every instrument I sell.
