Description
1965 Fender Stratocaster. This guitar features an older, professional body finish in Black, with original finish and decal on the neck. The guitar was originally Candy Apple Red from the factory, as this original finish is still in the neck pocket. This is an early '65 transitional model, with many Pre CBS features, including small head stock, L-Series plate, and Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard. The plastic parts appear to be replaced, though the guard is quite old and aged. The pickups are early '66 Grey bottoms. The neck has had different tuners in the past, but the original double line Klusons have been reinstalled. Pots have been replaced with Fender spec CTS units, and a new CRL 5 way switch has been installed. Needless to say, the electronics work perfectly with no issues whatsoever. The serial number is L85XXX. The guitar weighs 7.8 lbs. The neck measures .767" at 1st fret and .950" at 12th fret. '66 Grey Bottom pickups give perfect, healthy, vintage readings, from neck to bridge, 5.6K Ohms, 5.4K Ohms, 5.3K Ohms. This is a great sounding and playing Strat. Mid 60's grey bottom pickups are some of the best sounding that Fender ever made, and these do not disappoint. The guitar ships in an older Fender molded case.Satisfaction guaranteed. Keep the guitar for 48 hours, and if not fully satisfied, return for a full refund minus shipping charge.Listing may end at any time as guitar is also listed on Gbase and Reverb.
