This is a 1986 Mesa Boogie Mark III Purple Stripe Combo in Imbuia and Wicker. As far as I know this amp is 100% original. I picked this up recently because I have been interested in the lower wattage options with the the purple stripe. After messing with the amp a bit I decided I would rather have a Mark III with all the factory mods performed. I found another amp I would like to pick up so I am selling this one to fund that purchase. If you are looking for an all original purple stripe Mark III combo this is for you.Features include Graphic EQ, Reverb, and Simul-Class which would make this a DRG. Also includes the iconic Electro Voice EVM-12L speaker. Chassis mount is SUS-4. Original vinyl cover is included but quite worn out. Does the job but doesn't look very good. If the final sale price is over $1,600 I will include original Mesa Rhythm/Lead and Mesa Rhythm 2 foot switches.Despite these photos, the amp will be shipped with Mesa 6L6s in the inner sockets and Mesa EL34s in the outer sockets. These are vintage tubes so I cannot vouch for their lifespan going forward. For now they sound good. :)You can judge the condition for yourself based on the photos. The imbuya cab I would rate as "good". The face and top are pretty clean but the back has some big bumps. The amp itself is super clean with an unblemished face, clean transformer and heat sink, all slider knobs in place, etc. As far as I understand it has not been modded, restored, or serviced any time recently. I am only a few hours away from Mesa Boogie Petaluma and if you'd like to have this amp serviced I would consider shipping to the factory on your behalf after purchase.Ground shipping to continental 48 states only. I am happy to pack the amp and ship using your FedEx or UPS account number to make shipping charges fair. No returns. Please ask any questions 24 hours before the end of the auction so I have time to answer you.
This amp is listed locally so the auction may be ended early. Thanks for looking!Ignore this stuff:FYI: This is not a Mark 1, 2, 4, or 5. Also not a MKI, MKII, MKIV, or MKV. Also not a 2C+ or IIC+, MKIIC+, or MK2C+. It isn't any of those things, it's a Mark III, Mark 3, MK3, MK 3!!!Keywords: This is a guitar amp, meaning a vacuum tube amplifier, to be used with an electric guitar. You might consider using your Gibson or Fender guitar with this amp. Personally I love Mosrite guitars, but a lot of people enjoy PRS, Ibanez, ESP, Schecter, BC Rick, Kramer, Ernie Ball, Musicman, or G&L. A lot of other people really like super strats, vintage guitars, neck-thrus, bolt-ons, Stratocasters, Telecasters, Les Paul, and other musical instruments. It's not a full stack, and not a half stack, more like a quarter stack? A lot of people consider Mesa and the Mark series to be peerless, but some of their competitors are Marshall, Orange, Soldano, Hughes & Kettner, Blackstar, Laney, Peavey, Vox, ENGL, Ampeg, VOX, Line G, Fuchs, and Dumble. This amp was Made in America, meaning Made in USA... American. Handmade? Hand-made! Hand wired, nice wiring! Different pickups might drive an amp differently. For example some high output active EMG pickups might overdrive the signal and distort more than some passive single coil Seymour Duncan Pickups. Others swear by DiMarzio humbuckers. This amp is known for high gain, cascading pre-amp, distortion and versatility.
