In 1967 Jennings Musical Industries, the first and best owner of Vox went bust. There were lots of leftover parts including many left handed guitar necks etc. Research into this guitar has found that the neck originally started out as a left handed one that was converted to right. This is why the side marker dots are on the underside of the neck and only the headstock is sprayed white (not particularly well) to hide the conversion. I have seen another picture of a similar effort in red. Quite why the headstock was shaped like the cheaper Vox guitars instead of the Phantom shape is beyond me. All that said , it is a mid 60s neck stamped Oct 1965 or 6 not quite sure of the last number. Frets still have plenty of life after a recent crowning. Believe it's a 7.25" radius just like Strats and Teles of similar age. Body and parts have been dated to the same period including the VOX engraved bridge cover. The only replacement parts on the whole guitar are the pickup selector and the trem arm. Tremolo unit is basically the same as the Hank Marvin stamped ones just without the signature. Few scrapes and dings as expected. Can't say the paint job is the best I've ever seen. It is priced accordingly! No case I'm afraid. Neck will be removed before shipping with a new set of strings included. More than happy to take more pics. Please ask any questions before you bid as all sales are final with no returns accepted. Zero or negative feedback? Please contact me FIRST before you bid.
