I bought this new from Sam Ash online at the beginning of 2013. When it arrived, one of the pickups was a little too wobbly. Since it was the last one in wine red and really not even a problem to begin with, I just had a luthier friend pack the cavity with a bit of foam rather than send it back, and now it sits nicely. I can't remember if I had him do any other set up or not, but it came Plek'ed from the factory and in any case still plays nicely. Gibson P90 pickups are nice a compromise between single coil and humbuckers. Fat, warm tones from lots of windings, a bit more bite than humbuckers, and this one also give nice, almost Strat-y tones in the middle position, plus that semi-hollow body resonance. There is a bit of normal hum, since P90s are single coil, but I don't find it bad compared to Strats, and personally I do generally use a noise gate anyway. Simple one volume one tone electronics. Unlike most hollow body Gibsons, the Midtown's mid-sized body is flat-topped, the main compromise that I can find to perhaps keep the cost down compared to an ES. Grover 18:1 tuners, according to a video on Anderton's (nice jams on this model in that video, too) (why do I always sell the guitars that stay in tune???). The off-white body binding seems to have just a hint of rosiness that picks up the main color of the guitar, depending on the lighting. Minor pick swirls, scratches, scuffs, and dings, same with the case (except the pick swirls), but an attractive package. Case candy as shown, including the truss rod wrench. No partial refunds, including international sales (Ebay Global Shipping only). Guitar and all included accoutrements may be returned in the same condition as shipped, for a refund of the sale price. Everything works great at this writing. Not responsible for shipping damage, particularly internationally, but I will pack well and declare value on domestic FedEx shipment of this item.
