Professional EX Broadcast Studio RP2/9/170 Twin Disk Stereo Reproducer Technics SP-10 Mk2-P Turntables(White)Date of build - 1979/80For auction is this stunning EX BBC RP2/9/170 Twin Disk Reproducer in excellent working order.This original retro dual turntable unit was designed and built by the BBC during the late 1970s.The console comprises of - Technics SP-10 Mk2-P/RP2/9 Turntables(Each mounted on oak motorboards that are adjustable via independent spring suspensions) (Serial numbers - DA9412A039 / DA0315A130)Technics SH-10 EP Control Power Supply Units. (Re-capped and fully serviced)----------------------------------------------------BBC designed MP1-18 Tone Arms with Headshells.(Fitted with Ortofon OM Moving Magnet Pro Cartridges & Styli) Stereo Panel Amplifiers PA3/5/215.(Fitted with balanced line transformers) Pre-amps with AM 16/11 - RSA EQ circuits.(Offering variable top and bass cut filters)Pre-fade listen facilities for headphone monitoring from both decks via PO-316 twin jacks. (Each headphone jack output has a variable gain control)Both Technics turntables operate smoothly and silently offering visual internal strobes and fast start times.Turntables run at speed options 33/45 & 78 rpm with illuminated motorboard variable pitch controls.MP1-18 pick-up tone arms with damping controls.Groove optical indicators are fitted but they require setting up and alignment with the aid of a service manual.All function indicator lights and LEDs operate well.Detachable XLR output leads supplied.---------------------------------Sorry, but I don't have any service information for this reproducer but Technics info is widely available.Both turntables, power supplies/controllers and plinths are modular and can be unplugged from the main cabinet.These are accessed from the front hinged down control panel. The white console is in a nice clean condition.If studied closely there are a few little marks here and there consistent with studio use but nothing major.Please examine my photos for general cosmetics.The cabinet dimensions are - W-96cm D-67cm H-102cm.As this unit is heavy (approx 78Kg on castors), I would appreciate personal collection please.However, should you wish to have this unit shipped inside or outside the UK - please contact me for a quotation.I would appreciate your shipping inquiry prior to bidding - thank you.
