Description

1949 Gibson Southern Jumbo Vintage Acoustic Guitar - This is a true players guitar.  Shows its years on the road and in Nashville in spades including worn-off finish on the neck, numerous cracks on the top, back and heel plus a special bolt visible inside the soundhole used to lock the neck in place during some previous neck reset and other repairs that have been glued up and helped to keep this guitar in playing and recording action.  This guitar is super-light compared to today's SJs.  Kluson tuners have been replaced with Kluson tuners from around the same period.  It has great low action and is great sounding.  A joy to play.  Original belly-up bridge that was first introduced in this year and which many say contributes to the incredible tone of the SJs from this period.  If you're looking for a player in a vintage Gibson slope-shoulder dreadnought, this is your new old friend.  *I have 100% feedback here at CoolOldGuitars and want to keep it that way.  I want all of my customers to be satisfied.  While CoolOldGuitars is a newer Ebay seller, you can check out my 100% feedback at @krl711, where I've been an Ebay member since 2001.  So please ask any questions before purchasing and I will gladly answer to the best of my ability.  I want you to be happy with your purchase, so I have done my best to describe this guitar accurately in the item description, but please also reference all of the included photos, too, as they are considered part of the description. **If the value of the guitar being sold is more than $300, insurance may be included in the shipping and this cost is the responsibility of the buyer.  ***Because of the time and expense involved in properly packaging and shipping vintage guitars, I do not offer returns, so please bear this in mind when bidding.  Many thanks and happy strumming!
