The American Special Telecaster puts U.S-made Fender quality into the hands of players at any level. For the guitarist who wants a combination of timeless Fender style and contemporary features, this guitar delivers traditional Tele design with some extra elements for modern tone and performance, including dual Texas Special pickups and special circuitry, modern neck profile and fretboard radius, and more. The American Special Telecaster borrows the stylishly classic bridge from its American Vintage series cousins, with a rock-solid string-through-body design and three brass “barrel” saddles for an extra touch of original-era authenticity. The tone-control electronics in this American Special guitar include Fender’s Greasebucket tone circuit. When dialing down the tone knobs, this circuitry rolls off high end without creating additional emphasis on bass. That keeps the tone from getting muddy, and it helps create sparkling clean tone and great overdriven sounds too. The shiny gloss urethane finish on this American Special Tele imparts a beautifully glassy sheen and especially vivid color in a highly durable coating that effectively resists the ravages of weather, aging and fading. This American Special Tele features the largest of the fret sizes, jumbo frets, which are tall and wide, and lets you get a better grip on the strings, enabling more control over them and making bends and vibrato easier. A good choice for players with larger hands and thicker fingers. The Maple neck features a modern neck designed for comfort and performance, with a contemporary “C”-shaped profile (the shape of the neck in cross section) and a smooth satin finish. Ideal for those who play with the thumb on the back or side of the neck. This American Special Tele is equipped with single-coil Texas Special pickups that are over-wound for big Texas-blues tone with dynamically scorching output. With alnico 5 magnets, enamel-coated magnet wire and staggered pole pieces for balanced output across each string, they sing, scream and everything in between with tight bass, focused midrange and crystalline highs. This guitar is required to be listed as seller refurbished by the manufacturer. It has been completely checked over by The Music Farm team, and also by the largest manufacturer refurbishing center in America. Buying one of these guitars is almost like buying a brand new guitar, but getting a huge savings on it! Most of these instruments do not have any visible defects. If there is a visible defect it will be indicated in pictures and in the description. These guitars do not carry the original manufacturer warranty, and in order to prevent invalid warranty claims they are lightly stamped “USED” or “2nd” on the back of the headstock, and the original serial number has been replaced with a new serial number from the refurbishing center.
