1958 Hofner President Archtop Jazz guitar. Pre truss rod version.Blonde finish with stunning grain to the back and sides.This guitar has a floating Framus pickup added to the back of the neck with the input through the scratchplate. This pickup is probably worth a few quid alone.I think the neck has been reset at somepoint but it looks like a good job ( inspected by my repairman) and like usual the heel cover has shrunk over time so a little slither of plastic has been pieced in. ( see pics )There are historic cracks each side of the neck running from the heel back a few cms. Again these have been inspected and are solid but obviously still visual but just part of the guitars history.Otherwise this is a pretty clean President. It has marks and signs of wear and use but overall pretty good but certainly not mint.The neck is pretty straight with some relief and the action is about 3mm at the 12th , perfectly reasonable for one of these.No case but will be well packaged and boxed for shipping.Free UK mainland shipping - usually 48 hrs but not always guaranteed or £10 for next working day UPS or Yodel or similar courier. - International buyers welcome - please message for quote - Collection in person welcome.Check out the full size pics below.
