Hello, welcome to this listing for a superb Brauner VMX Pure Cardiod valve microphone. If you're here then chances are you've researched these microphones, and have some idea what they are capable of. If you are looking for incredible detail and warmth in the same microphone you are in the right place! This is the fixed cardioid version of the VMX - and the VMX is the slightly more characterful cousin of the Brauner VM1. The difference between the VMX and the VM1 is subtle, the VMX is warmer and a touch smoother and less clinical than it's close relative. I'm only selling this microphone as I own an original U67 - one of the few mics that can seriously compete with the quality of the VMX, and I unfortunately can't justify too many high-end mics at this time, much as I'd love to hold onto it. The sonic signature of the VMX is reminiscent of the original AKG C12, big and warm but with a high-end that goes on forever and renders detail beautifully. Brauner can be considered a 'Rolls Royce' of microphones, superb handmade German craftsmanship it it's best. The sound of forward, crisp, detailed and modern but with a beautiful valve richness and warmth. The vocal goes from quiet to belting in the song, so you get some idea of how the mic handles both soft and hard tones. There is no EQ on the vocal channel just some compression and reverb, there is also piano spill. Although the VMX is a mic with an open and detailed high end it's not a sibilant mic and the 'S' frequencies and nicely controlled. If you're looking for that one killer vocal mic, this could well be the one for you.I love microphones and have a history of happy buyers on eBay, so please check my feedback and buy with confidence. If you would prefer to collect the microphone I would encourage you to set it up and hear it for yourself in my studio before taking it home. The VMA retails for close to £6000 and the full VMX around £3800! so to get what is possibly the most used feature of the two, at this kind of used price point is in my opinion, a bargain. And, as it's already used you will get your money back in full if you ever decide you need to sell it! The bundle encludes, the microphone, Brauner custom shock-mount, tube power supply, a Voxox tube mic cable, european IEC cable for power supply (I can supply a U.K. one if you need one)If you have any questions feel free to message me.
