Here is a nice vintage 1971 King Silver Flair. This is the original model (not the more recent model) and was the horn that Dizzy made famous. This is a .462 Large Bore horn that sounds wonderful. The laquer is gone and the surface has been polished which gives it a unique Matte finish. One small wear spot where the thumb was. Just cleaned, greased and oiled. New felts on the valves and new black rubber bumpers for the top valve caps. All slides work with ease and the top and bottom caps work well too. The sound is great in all registers. The Matte finish gives it a slightly smokier sound. Valves are fast and compression is good. There are some dings on the horn. This is a great step up horn for a high schooler or college music major.The case is original. The hinges work well but both springs need replacing. The inside is in pretty good shape, and the out side is very functional but has some wear.Please ask all questions before bidding. Please don't wonder about something and then get the horn and ask to return it because you couldn't see something…..I will gladly take and send any picture you'd like. The horn is not perfect…..but it still makes an excellent horn.
