Up for auction is a 1968 FENDER VINTAGE TELECASTER GUITAR BASS NECK, with BLACK INLAYS, WHITE BINDING and VINTAGE STYLE REVERSE WIND TUNERS.
This neck can be used with all late 60's to early 70's Telecaster Bass Guitars, and can also be used with Vintage PRECISION Bass guitars (1952 to early 1957) as well but the neck decal is for a Vintage Telecaster Bass. This neck can also be used with modern P-Bass re-issue vintage style guitars as well.
This Vintage FENDER Telecaster Neck was removed from a full working 1968 Vintage Fender Telecaster BASS Guitar. The full guitar had some issues so it was parted out. The body had a long separation crack and the pickup, although a vintage late 60's original Telecaster pickup, was not the original 1968 pickup that came with this guitar. The Pots and Cap was replaced and the original Fender logo tuners were replaced with vintage Style reverse wind tuners.
This NECK was slightly damaged around the nut area. A small chunk of wood behind the nut chipped in several spots and was mostly broken off. The chipped damaged area just behind the nut was filed and leveled off and a new piece of wood which was custom formed was permanently installed. After the repair was complete, a new nut was installed on the neck. This custom repair job was performed by a Professionally Luther (see pictures).
The neck had a very small hairline crack just above the Low E tuner and was professionally repaired as well.
This neck still has the original Vintage NITRO finish that it had when I received the guitar, but since the finish was dull and flaking in certain areas, I gave the neck a new spray coat of NITRO HIGH GLOSS Lacquer to bring out the natural luster of the Vintage Amber High Gloss NITRO finish.
The original Fender neck logo decal was mostly chipped and flaking off as well, so I replaced it with a new late 60's style Fender Telecaster Bass LOGO Decal.
The frets are all original and in very good condition. The neck is straight and level with no twists or warps and the truss rod was checked and found to be in good working condition. This neck has been fully examined and tested so it is ready for installation on your Vintage Telecaster or Precision Bass guitar project.
