The HDK-5 contains five microphones, including the PR 48 kick mic, along with four Handi Mic Pro Plus microphones. For your kick drum, the PR 48 is superb with its suspension-mounted element, preventing external vibration interference. Side and rear noise rejection is superb with the PR-48; moreover the PR 48’s large element captures the full depth of the bass drum, without noise, and without compromising any natural bass drum sounds. Your kick beater will be well represented; and don’t even worry about your feet pushing sound pressure levels into overload, because the PR 48 can handle up to 148 SPL…all day long.
