Description

Up for sale is a working Tascam MS16 16 Track Reel to Reel. It records on 1" tape at 30 inches per second. These machines are highly regarded, reliable and very fully featured. Countless great records have been made on these machines. This MS16 comes with the autolocator which opens up a world of features, such as 99 memory locations, auto punch in/out etc. The machine is working and was just serviced. All 16 tracks record and playback, and it was just fully calibrated. Heads are in good shape with plenty of life. The machine records and plays flat at 20kHZ. Comes with the Service manual, a takeup reel and one reel of used RMGI tape to get you started. If you have any questions let me know. Local pickup HIGHLY encouraged. The machine is located in Roxbury Massachusetts. This machine can be shipped but it would need to be in two seperate boxes and calibrated and potentially fully serviced after shipping. I've shipped dozens of reel to reel recorders all over the country with no shipping damage, but once the machine is boxed I can't guarantee it any longer and will be sold As-Is.
DISCLAIMER:
I've had once bad experience selling reel to reel recorders from a buyer on eBay who had buyers remorse and caused me lots of problems, so I feel like I need to make it clear. This is a fragile vintage recorder and has no implicit guarantees other then it will be packed extremely well and will show up to your door. There is no returns, so please be sure of your purchase. I will do everything within my power to help any buyer, and want you to be satisfied with your purchase. But you need to realize that items of this nature require maintenance and certain technical know-how to be put into service. I am an honest person who loves analog tape, and I have a lot of experience with these machines (I use one in my studio). I would love to find a buyer who could fully test out the machine in person before purchasing it, and demonstrate how to calibrate and properly maintain the machine...so Local pickup HIGHLY encouraged. Thank you.
