Evetts 14" x 5.5" Spotted Gum Ply in Natural Satin Finish This handcrafted Evetts snare is made from 10 ply 6mm Spotted Gum. Spotted Gum has a much lower fundamental tone than Jarrah, which gives these snares and amazing amount of depth and power. Perfect for cutting through heavy guitars. However, Spotted Gum is also very versatile, possessing great mids and tuned high it has an awesome crack. Due to the hardness of the timber and the interlocking grain, Spotted Gum is quite a difficult timber to work with (it is about 80% harder than the rock maple used in most drums), but it is this hardness that gives the wood such excellent vbottom end while also being remarkably loud. Soon to be a popular choice with drummers all over the world. Finished: in Natural Satin over Spotted Gum. Features: High Gloss Evetts high gloss finish is high-quality and maintenance-free 2k polyurethane. Once the shells have been prepped they are taken through the sealing process in readiness for top coating. Once top coated, the drums rest to cure before they are machine buffed and hand waxed to give a luxurious and deep high-gloss finish. Lugs: Evetts use low-mass vintage tube lugs on all our snare drums. These durable, classic style lugs compliment the stability, look and feel of the drums. Hoops: All Evetts drums are fitted with 2.3mm triple flanged hoops. These hoops allow for the natural percussive sound of the drum shell to shine without compromise. Throw-offs: Evetts are proud to feature the Trick GS007 Multistep solid aluminum throw-off. Arguably, the Trick GS007 is the smoothest, quietest and most durable throw- off on the market today. The GS007 is available in chrome or black. Wires: Evetts fit their drums with Puresound Blaster snare drum wires. These wires create greater contact across the surface of the drumhead while offering increased sensitivity, consistency, response and projection. Heads: Evetts snare drums come with REMO drum heads. Evetts is a boutique custom drum company based in Sydney, Australia that specialises in handcrafted custom snare drums. Its founder and principal drum smith, Stephen Crawley, utilises hand selected Australian hardwoods to build the backbone in your drum arsenal. With a custom combination of select Australian hardwoods, rare exotic veneers and cut above craftsmanship, Evetts Drum Company is capturing the eyes, ears and imagination of the modern drummer; See, hear and experience drums full circle.
