This Tribute Legacy HB offers classic G&L sound and unmatched playability on a time-tested design, with a bit more punch than you might be used to on similar designs. The clean tones have that singing, vocal-like sound with crisp highs, smoothed out lows and mids that help you cut through but don't get in the way. Distorted, this is the epitome of an all-purpose axe. Use the middle and neck positions for classic twang, chime and sparkle, and kick in the bridge position for crunch and thick solos that cut through the mix. The neck is very comfortable and will feel like an old friend to most players. This is plenty of guitar for the money. Item Details This G&L Tribute Legacy HB features a basswood body with a gloss black finish. The medium C shape neck is maple, and it features a rosewood fretboard with a 12" radius, 22 medium jumbo frets and dot inlays. Electronically, this guitar features two of the same pickups as its American-made counterpart. Yup, you read that sentence correctly - this axe has a G&L CLF-100 Alnico V single-coil in the middle and neck positions. Made in Fullerton, California, these pickups are all about that coveted sound from the late 50's and early 60's. The bridge pickup, a G&L AW4368 alnico humbucker, leans more toward a hotter contemporary sound. With the push/pull switch on the volume knob, you can split the bridge humbucker. Another great feature is the PTB system, which offers the player a bass and treble knob in addition to the volume knob to dial in your exact sound. The G&L Dual Fulcrum bridge along with the 18:1 ratio tuning keys will keep everything locked down no matter how far you bend. If you're not looking to empty your bank account on a guitar but you want to sound like you did, this is the way to go.
