SX SQUARENECK SPIDER CONE DOBROWith Paul Beard (USA) upgrades and a complete pro-level accessories package.
SX Squareneck Dobro-style resonator guitar. This guitar retails in the UK (if you can find one) at around £300, and is a quality, well designed and constructed instrument. This has been my main Dobro for the last couple of years, but have just invested in a handbuilt USA instrument, so is now surplus to requirements. The guitar is in good cosmetic condition, with just a couple of tiny finish dings. Headstock features a dobro decal, which can be removed if you wish. The Paul Beard upgrades coupled with a pro set-up means this guitar can hold it's own with Dobros costing a lot more. This example benefits from several important upgrades including:Paul Beard Legend triple-spun handmade cone - the lightest, best sounding Dobro cone available, as used by Jerry Douglas
Paul Beard #14 Spider Bridge- an exact replica of a 1930's cast aluminium Spider, widely regarded as the lightest and best-sounding Spider bridge for dobro
Paul Beard "Rosetta" coverplate - unique custom design - similar to the Beard Jerry Douglas model. Hand made in the USA (new, never been gigged)
Paul Beard Maple/Ebony bridge saddles
Quality vintage-style Kluson deluxe tuners (replacing the cheap generic Chinese Gotoh copies originally installed)In addition the guitar will come complete with the following: Shubb GS1 ergonomic tonebar (£40) Dunlop 919 stainless steel bullet tonebar (£30) Levys Leather Strap (£30)
National Finger/Thumbpicks (£10) Boston heavy-duty gigbag (£35) spare set of D'Addarrio Resophonic strings (£9)The Beard parts alone come to over £300, and the additional accessories would come to over £150, without the guitarLooking for £495 but will take offers. If you buy at £495 I will throw in a genuine, and ultra rare Tim Sheerhorn Dobro Capo (worth £75) widely regarded as one of the best, if not the best dobro capos available. NB. The Sheerhorn capo will NOT be included if an offer lower the £495 is acceptedPLEASE NOTE: The Dobro decal is for show only: This is an SX guitar with a Dobro decal, it is not a genuine dobro
