Available in an incredibly limited 50-piece run, the SS-GP42-15 presents a rare opportunity for the discerning player, the avid collector, and the true lover of fine instruments.The Martin SS-GP42-15 starts out with a mid-sized Grand Performance non-cutaway body, a Vintage Tone System (VTS) certified European spruce soundboard with Golden Era-style bracing, and stunning highly flamed koa sides and 3-piece back with a beautiful Madagascar rosewood back wedge. The SS-GP42-15 is also adorned with premium shimmering abalone appointments including a Style 42 top trim that extends along the edge of the fingerboard, a two-ring abalone rosette, and a striking, intricate Tree of Life select abalone inlay that starts at the top of the headstock and continues along the entire fingerboard. Offering a perfect complement to the back wedge, the SS-GP42-15 showcases Madagascar rosewood binding along with a Madagascar rosewood headplate, endpiece and heelcap. A Toasted Burst gloss lacquer top finish pairs beautifully with the natural hue of the koa. As far as sound goes, the SS-GP42-15 offers incredible tonal balance and a warm, rich and broken-in sound thanks to the torrefied top. A nice top-end sparkle and shimmer is imparted by the koa body. This beautiful rare acoustic has it all--the looks, the sound, and of course, an array of performance-ready features that make this guitar an amazing stage companion including top-of-the-line Fishman Aura VT electronics and an ergonomic, superbly playable Performing Artist neck carved from genuine mahogany.
