A Wheatstone Aeola treble English concertina No 24638. It is one of the earlier Aeolas with 8 sides and it is the period when they tended to make the best reeds. The concertina has raised ebony ends, metal buttons, steel reeds and 5 fold bellows + case. The instrument has been restored with new valves, pads, straps, bushings and is tuned to concert pitch. You don't get many 44 keys but they are all any folk player would need as it goes up to G and G# on the left and up to F and F# on the right. People often ask me why the normal 48 key goes up so high and I guess it is because classical music was what it was made for-but Folk music never requires those very high notes and you are saving weight without those extra 4 buttons and reeds. The instrument plays very well-fast and bright but with the lovely tone that a good wooden-ended Aeola has. It has wrist strap fittings if required.Postage would be £20-by courier-insured-in the U.K.It would be £80 to the States.Good Bidding!
