This fine instrument was made following the plans of a 1670 model. The woods have been carefully selected, with a nice spruce of narrow grain lines for the top widening towards the edges, and two wonderful pieces of maple, the curl ascending to the center joint, for the back. The oil varnish employed is of a rich orange color on a golden ground and was also applied in copy. The sound of the instrument is of a very high concert level, projective and clear, warm and mature, with a great sensitivity. A fantastic concert instrument, suitable for experimented players, teachers and concertists.The violin has been set-up with Thomastik Dominant strings, a Despiau bridge and an rosewood and bone set, including baroque pegs. This violin was made in 2013 and bears our label on the inside back. The instrument will be sent in a new rectangular case. Insured shipping to Europe for 39€, and to U.S for 75€.
