This is a 1920's Sumthing Pre-War Style they call it... Here's sum specs on this accordion...   EXTREMELY RARE FIND !!!! BRAND: Ranco Antonio & Filo
MODEL: Vercelli Italia
KEYS: 41 With White Pearl inlay
KEYBOARD: 19 1/2"
BASS: 120 Buttons
SWITCHES: Single Master Palm Switch & Bass Switch
TUNNING: LMMH DRY ***Chin switch I believe they call it as well...  changes the sound to a softer musette... Pic with the finger in it... ***REEDS**: 4/5 I believe...but I've never seen that many reeds in an accordion... not like your standard 4 Reed accordion... and there's no waxed used...Really Kool... The reeds have teeth on them and are pressed and screwed right to the blocks... And you'll see "aranco" stamped into the reeds...
Walter Ostanek's name was written on the inside of the bass side... Believe it's his old address... Kinda neat... He's who I got this accordion from... ;)
BELLOWS: Are in great shape.. no rips or tears or leaks... I got my dad to play it for me to show the different sounds she makes... You can view them on my YouTube channel here: https://youtu.be/SNG8M4P8NM0 <-- Half Reeds Opened https://youtu.be/NU9vATzWZAw <-- Full Reeds Opened (The Cleveland Bark) https://youtu.be/wwhTdB7q8w4 <-- Musette chin switch engaged I asked my dad afterwards how does it play? Hows the compression? Does it need $2000 of work done to it? His reply:
And I quote right from the TXT msg... "No... I didn't feel any obvious air leaks . Compression is great !
And no ... I wouldn't spend 2000 on that box. Seems to be in very good condition as it is.
🎹" My dad plays professionally... Been playing for over 45+ years...He plays a georgous 1920's Italo American Special Gold Edition.. he had the the $1800 worth of restoration work done to his... and it was worth it... I don't think he wants me to sell this Ranco...Lol.. but I trust his word over any accordion tech out there... This accordion is the REAL DEAL !!!! According to the little research I was able to do.. Ranco Antonio was one of the first designer of the piano accordion... If you google Ranco Accordion... 3rd or 4th result is an article by boxandfiddlearchive.com that has allot of info... Overall I say the accordion is 9.8/10 condition considering its age... But it's just too heavy for me... and I want it to go to a good home... I'll include a case...But no straps... I'm running out... And ill be sure it's packed extremely well for travel... I can ship worldwide as well...   TAKE A LOOK AT THE PICTURES CAREFULLY....
WHAT YOU SEE... IS WHAT YOUR GUNNA GET...
THIS ACCORDION IS SOLD AS IS...
NO RETURNS !!!   OPEN TO SERIOUS OFFERS ONLY !!!
